Mark has taken a hiatus from his high paying career managing multi-million dollar projects on Bay Street to take on the more challenging aspects of investing in and managing small businesses. He was attracted to The Aussie X because of the unique opportunity to work in a completely new industry and because of the company’s passion for improving the lives of kids.
Mark is the owner of a boutique consulting firm called Productivity Management Office (Pro.MO) which assists clients in managing teams through major transitions. He has led clients like Capital Paving, one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies, in doubling the size of their head office and overhauling their systems and data processes. Mark’s firm has implemented the Canadian Welding Bureau’s (CWB Group) Business Continuity practices and relocated their head office.
Mark is frequently called upon to train project teams for clients such as Mars Canada (Effem), Santa Maria Foods, Mother Parkers and Morrison Lamothe. He has implemented and led the Project Management division of firms like The Canadian Securities Institute, bringing agile and effective project management to complex work.
Mark started his career as a Financial Analyst and this has inspired an analytical approach to decision making and an understanding of how to use data to guide business thinking.
Mark graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Cross Disciplinary Studies degree and is a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation holder. He has a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Schulich (York University). He is a Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) through the Canadian Securities Institute.
Mark is an avid Scuba Diver and attained his Dive Master certification in 2010. He has travelled extensively and believes that every country you visit can strengthen your understanding of people and of yourself.
